Continuous Comprehensive Evaluations

C.C.E. refers to a system of school based evaluation of students that covers all aspects of students' development.

  • The continuous aspect of C.C.E takes care of 'continual' and 'periodic' aspect of evaluation.
  • Continual means assessment of students in the beginning of instructions and assessment during the instructional process done informally using multiple techniques of evaluation.
  • Periodicity means assessment performance done frequently at the end of periodic test and term exam.
  • The C.C.E. take scare of assessment of all round development of the child's personality. It includes assessment in scholastic as well as co-scholastic aspects of the pupils growth.
  • Scholastic aspects include subject specific areas whereas co-scholastic aspects include Life Skills, Attitudes, and Values.
  • Periodic Test conducted during a course of instruction of providing continuous feedback to both, the teachers and the learners for taking decisions regarding appropriate modifications in the transactional procedures and learning activities.
  • Annual Exam conducted at the end of a course of learning. It measures how much a student has learned from the course. It is usually a graded test i.e., It is marked according to a scale or set of grades.
  • Continuous evaluation will help in bringing awareness of the achievement to the child, teachers and parents from time to time. They can look in to the probable cause of the fall in achievement if any, and may take remedial measures of instruction in which more emphasis is required.

Valuation of Scholastic Areas

Each term will have two Periodic Test and both Mid-Term and Annual-Term for evaluation of scholastic areas will be indicated in Grades. The Grading scale for scholastic areas:

Grades are awarded on a 8 point grading scale as follows:

41-50 C2
33-40 D
32 & Below E (failed)

Periodic Test is a tool used by the teacher to continuously monitor students progress in a non-threatening and supportive environment, some of the salient features are:

  • It improves student's performance remarkably.
  • It is diagnostic and remedial which provides effective feedback to students.
  • Also allows for an active involvement of students in their own learning.
  • It also enhances the self-esteem of students.

The Mid-term and Annual-term will be in the form of a pen-paper test conducted by the school themselves, it will be conducted at the end of each term. The question papers will be sent by the board and the examination and valuation will be done in the school.
